Joliet Junior College (JJC) students can enjoy earning their associate’s degree from JJC and their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Lewis University in as little as four years.
The program consists of 128 credit hours. You can earn up to 78 of those at JJC. (You need to at least earn an associate’s degree. You will be awarded 12 Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) credit hours for passing the NCLEX exam, after completing approximately half your coursework at Lewis. Upon successful completion, you will hold an associate’s degree from JJC and a BSN from Lewis University.
You’ll begin taking courses at JJC. Upon completing the coursework required for your associate’s degree, you’ll sit for the NCLEX and then transfer to Lewis University where you’ll complete the coursework required for your BSN. Classes are held at various Lewis satellite campuses and hospitals throughout the Chicago and suburban area.
The initial credit hours taken at JJC will be billed at their current tuition rates. Credit hours taken at Lewis University will be billed at a 25% discount from the time you apply until you complete the program. JJC will initially award financial aid. Once you earn your associate’s degree or attain junior status (75 credit hours completed), your financial aid will be processed by Lewis.
