University Plaza Waterfront Hotel

Our family enjoyed staying at this property. The rooms were nice and had a full size refrigerator in the room. The best part was the outdoor space which included a large faux grass area with ping pong and pool tables. The pool was also right there and lots of comfortable seating around the edges. Easy access to the lobby bar/ restaurant for drinks and snacks.

You get more than what you pay for. Great price!

I really like this hotel since it is clean, modern, it has a nice play area with chairs, ping pong table, pool, etc. The wireless internet worked really well, the beds were comfortable, the bathroom was large and nice. The only complaint I had was with the parking on the other side of the street (at the arena) which is okay and not a huge deal. It is just a pain when you have to deal with luggage. But you have to pay $20 extra for the parking. Either way, I have to say that our stay was very positive and the value was awesome. It was a nice hotel for a very affordable price. You get more than what you pay for.

The Employees were so fantastic. They were friendly and outgoing. Especially the Manager Rhonda. Hotel was immaculate and courtyard was incredible. Sat at fire pit and eat steak from the Bistro. Could not have asked for more and will be back when not on a work trip too!

Super clean with wonderful amenities

My husband and I are from Southern California and needed a place to stay the night. Our options were very slim in the Tracy area and we decided to stay in Stockton. We were very pleased with this hotel. Check-in was a breeze they had ample parking across the street in a lot. They had a little shop that was open 24 hours. All different kinds of snacks drinks and anything you might have forgotten on your trip. There is a ice machine on our floor which we were able to fill up our mini cooler with. Our room came with its own microwave and a pretty good size refrigerator. The shower and bathroom was very clean organized and well kept. The TV mounted on the wall was perfect for watching the news and traffic report before we left. The bed was very comfortable. My only suggestion would be to cover the blinds with thick curtains. Our window faced onto the street and the lights shined around the blinds making it a little difficult to fall asleep. Overall this hotel was a great find.

They had fire pits in the courtyard where you could sit and relax and enjoy the Waterfront View. They also had ping pong tables and pool tables. The pool looked very well kept and clean although we did not use it.

If we ever decide to go through this area again we will definitely be staying here.

The owner of this hotel is not here this week. It’s obvious because housekeeping did not clean our room today after leaving two messages with housekeeping and speaking with Oscar, the carpets are dirty, bed sheets are dingy, staff has not been monitoring the parking lot this week, and the pool has not been cleaned in a few days. I even saw a dog jump into the pool today. What’s worse is that it’s 1:37 am and the courtyard is so noisy that we can not sleep. The front desk is not monitoring the noise level for guests that are trying to sleep.
This hotel could be a modem jem, but lack of attention to detail, and inattentive housekeeping turn the jem into a dirty rock. I can’t wait for the owner to return. Everything changes when he’s here.

Absolutely the best hotel value in California!

Stockton, aka Fat City from the cattle feed lots of the Gold Rush era, remodeled their historic San Joaquin Delta waterfront in the 21st century. The University Plaza hotel (University if Pacific is nearby) sits between the next door Stockton Arena Stockton Ports Banner Island baseball stadium and the historic downtown Bob Hope Theatre.

I’m not sure which came first on this now filled-in island, but on my last trip by boat through the Delta, none of the three were here. The Arena hosts concerts (Carrie Underwood) Disney on Ice, and Monster Truck shows. The Double A Ports are California League team of the Oakland A’s playing in a 5,200 seat waterfront ballpark with Thirsty Thursdays $1. beers! Visiting teams and entertainers need a place to stay and they won’t believe the quality of the rooms at $84. rates.

My bathroom on a Thursday night (Room 450) with a walk-in shower was what you’d expect in a 4-star-priced hotel. A heavy fogged glass pocket-door opened to a spacious vanity full of extra towels. Opposite was a large refrigerator/freezer with a microwave on top, alongside his and hers closets. A modern floating shelf held a flat screen TV (missing TCM movie channel) but with an offering of first run pay movies. My view was to the west and the Arena. Parking was included. The lobby led to a very spacious triangle bar with two large TVs. Beyond was the restaurant overlooking the water. I ate at the bar and washed my meal down with two glasses of nearby Lodi Cabernet Sauvignon. I still couldn’t believe my room rate!

Despite a less-then-friendly front desk staff, our room was very nice and offered a clear view of the pool and recreation area.

The room was beautifully appointed and.

The room was beautifully appointed and included microwave, refrigerator, a great shower and reasonably comfortable bed.

An On-site restaurant, secured parking across the street, and walking paths next to the hotel along the waterfront makes this hotel a winner.
